Screen Stories Library

Camille Henrot, “Grosse Fatigue” (2013)

This library was originally compiled for the ‘Screen Stories’ project I am teaching at Merz Akademie during the spring semester 2020, moved online due to COVID-19. It is meant to work as a coherent curriculum for teaching the study and production of audiovisual works derived from networked and digital screen environments.

It is by no means intended to be a comprehensive collection of Screen Stories. For an example of such a collection, one can refer to this catalog of desktop cinema compiled by Conor Bateman. This is a living document that will continue to grow.

At the same time, I am always seeking further examples and I would like to provide links to additional recommended resources. I welcome your recommendations, input and feedback by email: kevin(dot)lee(at)merz-akademie(dot)de.

Good Job, Alex, Reply All, 2020
Listen to the second story about the Tinder mystery, starting at 27:04. It is 20 minutes long.

The podcast series Rabbit Hole by New York Times (2020) is an impressive investigation of YouTube culture.
The entire series is highly recommended. I especially recommend these two episodes:
Rabbit Hole Episode 2: Looking Down, 37 minutes
Rabbit Hole Episode 5: The Accidental Emperor, 35 minutes
