You're certainly lucky to have met JT - I would have never imagined he'd ever find his way to Missouri!

PTU is probably his most purely formalistic work - I just love the wackiness of RUNNING ON KARMA - it's like a throwback to the anything goes glory days of 90s HK cinema.

I loved Running on Karma, but I don't know that I could pick a film by Johnnie To to represent the best of the decade. By which, I mean, I don't know if one single film is better than a half dozen of his other films. I have a place in my heart for PTU, not only because it's a really good film, but because I got to meet the director at the showing I went to (once again, my experience of a movie is colored by the circumstances during which I saw it). The film that hit me the hardest, though was Election 2. Hard choice.

I've only seen half of the films on your list. My access to Asian films isn't what it used to be. I really need to move out of the sticks.
