While it's not my favorite of the Mann/Stewart Westerns (that's probably The Naked Spur), I have a LOT of affection for this movie. Most of it derives from John McIntyre's bad guy, who Mann lets rampage away with the movie, much to the detriment of James Stewart. I also love the landscapes. It reminds me of growing up in Colorado.

I recently watched the Mann/Stewart collaboration The Man from Laramie, and enjoyed it a lot. It's been a long time since I've seen the others, including The Far Country. Might be time to revisit. Thanks, as always, for the great collection of criticism.
