I think that Almodovar is overated, the only point of this autor is his incredible originality.
At the begguinning of his carrer all the critics hates him, but then some foreign critict discover him…and we must shut up and say that he is a genius…

Well, perhaps originality in the horrible creations ways of our spanish movie “industry” is that we need…

Pedro Almodovar defined the kinky and colorful world behind Spain's closed doors. And the actors portrayed their roles perfectly, especially the young Antonio Banderas who gave justice to his bisexual role with no signs of hesitation at all.

That’s great that this was your first Pedro, Tad. Mine was WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF NERVOUS BREAKDOWN and like this one I love its energy and sass. They feel more alive than recent Almodovar. Incidentally I think Bad Education is the only Almodovar from this decade that I like without reservation.

My first, and favorite, experience of Almodovar. Deliriously wonderful. Carmen Maura is a revelation. Bad Education is a poor derivative, imho.
