This was a great essay. Your mother and my grandmother share a lot of experiences and outlooks, so while I learned about you and your family, I also learned – or was reminded – of some things about mine. You should definitely develop this personal mode further, in your video essays on films or sparked by other topics.

“Out of shape”? I’ve met you, Kevin, and so I will respectfully disagree your mother on that one!

But seriously, this was a wonderful personal essay. As Dave said, you should do more of these.
