I like some sort of focus to my film viewings - recently i've been taking on individual directors. Bergman was the first, until i'd seen practically all the films released in the uk on dvd from him. I'm still on Spike Lee, overlapping with Claude Chabrol and Louis Malle. Antonioni's very difficult to get hold of in the uk -my L'Avventura is the criterion dvd that i imported from the US. Blow Up and The Passenger are the other two i've seen as they're the most commonly available here. The Red Desert, L'eclisse, Zabriskie Point et al have various releases in europe (mainly Italy) but rarely with english subs - and i dont usualyy have the money to fork out on importing criterion dvds. Thinking about it now, the only other criterion dvd i've got is Fanny And Alexander. Of the Bergman films i saw, i've only bought 2 (the other being Persona).
