		<description>No doubt, Jesse (if you are referring to the AFI list - the list I posted here is from Mediascape and specifies only US movies, explaining the exclusion of Duras and Denis and Varda).  I don&#039;t think they spent much time actively curating selections, it was more of an experiment to see what their 27 members could come up with in less than a week in response to the AFI.  (So is it reassuring or depressing that you might be more film literate than they are?)

Once I saw Amelie on the AFI list my enthusiasm plummeted...</description>

		<description>It certainly gets at some of the flaws of the AFI list, though it&#039;s still unabashedly populist... which I think the omission of Claire Denis, let alone a visionary like Marguerite Duras fails to make the list (not to say anything of Varda&#039;s &lt;i&gt;ClÃ©o&lt;/i&gt;!).  But it&#039;s nice to see Deren appear on a list like this.
